Organized by the Dalian International Beer Festival and Nanjing Craft Beer Company The 2nd “China International Home Brew Cup” will be held in Dalian from August 2 to 4.
In addition to the home brewers in China, there will be participants from overseas, as well as brewers from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
Participants will compete in the following categories: dark/ light/ wheat/ flavored and specialty malt Beer. The winners of each beer style will then compete for the category award before they can enter the final competition for the overall championship. The champion will be awarded a “Master” title, a trophy and an opportunity to brew a 2000 liter batch of the winning recipe at Nanjing Craft Beer Company’s brewing facility.
There are estimated more than 2,000 active home brewers in China, including expats living in China. Last year, a brewer from Guangdong took the “Master” title with his oat stout.

Dalian is one of the cities in North China where beer festivals are very popular already. The Dalian Beer Festival is organized from July 26 to Aug. 12th. Boxing Cat, Great Leap and Le Ble D’or will be operating an 800sqm beer tent for the entire length of the festival. They will be serving 10 different brands, including a collaboration wheat beer that marks the first time mainland Chinese and Taiwanese craft breweries work with one another.
